Who we are

Luminous Sanctum Inc. is a registered Australian not-for-profit based in Petrie, Queensland, founded by Daniel Rasmussen and Sandy Lu. We are working towards a sanctuary offering emergency housing, food gardens and a place to train, heal and belong. We do not have a physical site yet.

This page explains what information our website collects, why we collect it, and who looks after it.

When you join our newsletter

We ask for your first name and email address. These are kept by Kit (kit.com), the service that sends our newsletter. We use them only to send you our monthly newsletter. Every email has a link to unsubscribe in one click.

When you donate

Donations are handled by Stripe on its own secure payment page. Stripe collects your name, email address and payment details. We can see your name, email, the amount and the date of your gift, but never your full card number.

We use these details to process your gift, email your receipt, manage any monthly gift you set up, and keep the financial records the law requires charities to keep.

If you sent us a monthly pledge

Before monthly giving opened, our website had a pledge form asking for your first name, email address and pledge amount. Those pledges are stored by Netlify, the company that hosts our website. We use them only to send you the link to set up your monthly gift.

When you email or phone us

We use your details to reply to you and help with what you asked.

When you visit the website

Our website does not use cookies, visitor tracking, analytics or advertising.

Like any website, it relies on some outside services to work. Netlify hosts the site, and Google Fonts supplies the lettering. To show you the page, these services receive basic technical details, such as your internet address and the type of browser you use. They handle this under their own privacy policies.

Our links to TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook take you to those websites, which have their own privacy policies.

Photos

Our photos show real events and real people. If you appear in a photo on this website and would like it removed or your face blurred, email us and we will take care of it.

Who we share your details with

Only the services named on this page, and only so they can do the job described. We never sell, rent or trade your details. We would only pass them on to anyone else if the law required us to.

How long we keep your details

• Newsletter details: until you unsubscribe.
• Donation records: for as long as the law requires charities to keep financial records, which is at least seven years.
• Pledges and messages: only as long as we need them to help you.

Your choices

You can ask us what details we hold about you, ask us to correct them, or ask us to delete them. We will delete anything we are not required by law to keep. Just email admin@luminoussanctum.com.

If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
